RopeHook

A 3D printer project to print your own rope hook and optionally matching deck mount.

Rope hooks can be bought in most boating shops, but you always have too few of them, and they are expensive too. It is easier to print them on demand, if you have a 3D printer at home, or ideally, on your boat (like I have).

You can attach a rope to this rope hook in two ways: Through the small hole and with a knot inside the bigger hole, or with the rope through the bigger hole and a knot on the outside.

The matching swiveling deck mount is optional. This is great if you need to tie something to the deck. It consists of two pieces: The deck mount swivels in one direction and the hook swivels in the other direction, so there will not be any bending forces on the deck mount regardless of the pulling direction. When not in use, the deck mount can be collapsed. Attaching the mount to the deck requires only one screw.

This model should be printed in ASA, as this is the only plastic that survives prolonged exposure to UV.
