# Yamaha-F25
Some 3D designs for repairs on the Yamaha F25 and alike engines.
## StopCover
This is a rather trivial design to replace a broken stop button cover. Print with the softest TPU you can print.
## ShifterLever
There are a few Yamaha outboards that have the gear handle on the tiller. The F25 is one of them.
The problem I observed is that the metal part that connects the gear handle to the shifter cable reacts with the metal of the tiller. What clown designed it this way?
Symptoms are that the gear handle becomes very stiff to operate, while at the same time you get lateral play on the handle. After taking out all the aluminium corrosion, it works again, but only for a while...
At some point that metal lever broke, and I had to either order an expensive non-regular part, pay an equally expensive shipping and import fee, have it shipped to some remote location, or...
just copy the design and print the part myself.
At this moment, it has been more than half year ago that I replaced that part and it is still not showing any signs of wear.
### Notes
I printed a prototype with PETG, and it worked fine, and might have kept working forever, but I decided to go for maximum strength so I printed it again with PAHT-CF.
Due to the shape, it can not be avoided to use supports. In the case of PAHT-CF, I use ASA as a separation layer between the part and the supports.
To make it as strong as possible, the new part became bulkier than the original one. There is some protection mechanism that prevents throttling up with the gear in neutral, but I had to sacrifice this to make room for the added material.
To do this, you have to saw off the metal protrusion on the throttle shaft.
To connect the shifte cable, I used an alan bolt that can be screwed into the new shifter lever.
It is a tight fit to get this part in, but it can be done. Put the shifter cable on it first.
Make sure to use adequate lubrication between this part and the tiller handle.
